The Proposal

Caroline surprised Justin by proposing on 29th February 2016. We had rented a cabin at Golsfjellet, spending the days skiing and enjoying the snow.

With tremendous help from Lars Korssund (thanks Lars!) Caroline created a fake beer label which was put on beer bottles. Rather than having ingredients on the label, it had the ingredients of our relationship - and on the next bottle it had the sentence "Vil du gifte deg med meg?" (will you marry me?).

After a day of skiing we had a couple of beers when we came back to the cabin. Caroline gave Justin one of the special beers, and he did not understand what was going on. He was reading the label, thinking "this is a coincidence"...

Caroline says:
"I was stressing for the few days before the 29th February in the cabin, as I constantly had to shift the beer bottles around so Justin wouldn't find them. I nearly panicked when he came out of the shower and said "no" when I asked if he wanted a beer. I remember insisting that he have one, and then gave him the first beer with the label describing our relationship events. While waiting for the penny to drop, I started laughing and smiling uncontrollably - and it became more and more difficult to keep a straight face as Justin gradually was studying the beer label. Eventually I got the other bottle from the fridge, got down on one knee (or maybe it was two knees) and asked him. He said yes, and then we both laughed and cried."
